Government of India advises not to use N-95 mask with Valves

The Financial Express

In the start of pandemic in the month of March, the government and other health organisations emphasised people to buy and use N-95 masks. Till the end of the month, most of the medical stores due to huge demand ran out of the stocks.

The Union Health Advisory has asked the public to not use N-95 masks that have respiratory valves attached to them. The reason behind the same simply being that it doesn't serve the purpose of mask which is to provide protection from the spreading Corona Virus. When a person sneezes or even speaks, there are few droplets that are likely to either fall on the floor or the lighter ones that will float in the air. If a person is infected with the virus, the infection could spread from their droplets.

The government has asked people to increase and encourage the use of home-made masks that are proved to be more beneficial.
