Independence Day PM Modi Speech

On the eve of 74th Independence Day, PM Modi addressed many crucial points in his speech and also stated the achievements of their government in the last past one year. India has crossed many important landmarks and  many important decisions were taken. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first non-congress leader who hosted the flag for the 7th time.

3 crore lakh rupees transaction from UPI BHIM in the last one month. Digital payment has increased its volume drastically and it will help India. Not only this, but the students attending online classes from even the villages during this pandemic is also a proud movement that India is becoming Atmanirbhar.     

 

National Digital Health Mission

National Digital Health Mission will bring revolution in the country. Now the Health Card will be provided to every citizen, in which each citizen medical track record will be kept. You will get information about every test, every disease, which doctor prescribed you which medicine and when and your reports under one health ID.  

 

New Draft for Cyber Security and Legal Age of Women for Marriage

National Cyber Security Strategy 2020 (NCSS 2020) Draft is in making in order to fight cybercrimes in India. Since the adoption of the National Cyber Security Policy, 2013 India Cyberspace have changed drastically, which require new enactments for security purpose and smooth functioning. The Indian Government under the aegis of National Security Council Secretariat through a well-represented Task Force is in the process of formulating the National Cyber Security Strategy 2020 (NCSS 2020) to cater for a time horizon of five years (2020-25).

Supreme Court’s ruling in 2017 is behind the move of changing Women age for Marriage. Right now, the legal age for girls is 18 and for boys is 21. The new draft for increasing nuptial age of girls by the 10-member task force to determine the right age for women. Because according to a study conducted by global agency UNICEF in 2017, as many as 27% of girls in India are married off before their 18th birthday. The study further says that 1.5 million girls under the age of 18 get married every year in India.

 

Skill India

Through the project of Skill India, now the objective of ‘Koshal Bharat-Kushal Bharat’ is likely to be achieved. Pradhan Mantri Kushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) 2016-2020, will benefit more than 10 million people. It is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). It will secure better livelihood and target the school or college going youth and even unemployed youth. The youth will be assessed and certifies under the Recognition of Prior Learning. The training and assessment will be entirely paid by the government.

 

Corona Test Rose From 300 to 7 lakh Per Day

The capability of India is incredible as, within this short span of time from March to August, the rate of doing the Corona Test Increased from 300 tests per day to 7 Lakh tests per day.

 

Vaccination for Corona

The government has approved 3 institutions for the Human Clinical Trail phase, and it is likely to see the vaccines for Corona coming soon by the end of this year. These are (1) Bharat BioTech produced Covaxin, (2) Zydus Cadila produced ZyCOV-D and (3) AstraZeneca, Serum Institute of India.  

 

Delimitation in Jammu and Kashmir

The body was set up under the Delimitation Commission Act, 2002 months after centre revoked the special status of J&K u/a 170. The transition from state to Union Territory is governed by the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019. After delimitation Jammu is likely to gain 5 seats and Ladakh 2.  

 

Carbon Neutral Ladakh

The Union Territory Administration has ordered for a complete ban on the use of plastic water bottles and other plastic made objects in government offices and other institutions. The goal is to make 100% plastic-free union territory by July end.     

 

Solar Energy: India in top 5 Country of the World

The government is boosting the solar energy infrastructure in India through various schemes and projects. India’s National Solar Mission was launched in 2010. And many schemes are introduced to provide people with the incentive of using solar energy like PM-KUSUM Scheme etc.  

India stands 3rd in Asia and 4th in the world in terms of solar power production across its plants. This currently accounts for about 38% of its total capacity of renewable energy. The country also claims to own the world’s largest solar park, located in Rajasthan.

 

Optical Fibre Network in Every Village

The PM Modi has said that within the period 1,000 days every India village will have optical fibres connection. It will make 1.5 lakh panchayat to go online and also to the students to become global citizens. Before 2014, only 2 dozen of Indian villages had optical fibre. The speed of this fibre would be 10 GB per second.

 

Optical Fibre in More Than 1300 Indian Islands.

India has more than 1300 islands, with selective islands development India is moving forward to connect these islands to an optical fibre network.

A stretch of 2,312 km submarine fibre linking Chennai and Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar Island. The next island to connect the optical fibre would be Lakshadweep Island.

 

New Education Policy, 2020

The new education policy will positively impact the Indian Education System. With the introduction of vocational Studies in school level, coding to be learnt from class 6th onwards, self-assessment, the choice to select subjects in higher education and removing the 10+2 structure to 5+3+3+4 are some of the important highlights.    

 

Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan

The GKRA is an initiative to tackle the COVID-19 situation. It will directly impact the migrant workers who were the most impacted due to this pandemic. They will be provided 125 days of employment to 6,70,000 migrant workers (approx. 2/3 of the total migrant workers)from the government. The government provided the funding of 50,000 crore rupees. It is a joint effort of 12 different ministries and covers 25 categories of workers.

 

Houses for The Migrant Workers

The low housing rent under the PMAY (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna) is made available to the migrants. 70,000 govt. funded houses are ready as per the officials.    

 

25,000 Crore Rupees Funds Released for The Completion of House

The government approved 25,000 crore rupees for helping 1,600 stalled housing projects. It also included the projects which were declared bad loans and admitted in the insolvency proceedings. In all 4.58 lakh housing unit has been targeted from this move of the government in order to generate employment and revive demand of cement, iron and steel.  

 

In Selective 100 Cities of India, Holistic Growth for Reducing Pollution

The government showing serious concern for rising air pollution, started air pollution abatement programme where 100 cities will be tried to make a pollution free by 50% in the next 5 years.    

 

India is one of the few Countries Where forest Area is Increasing

PM Modi said that India is developing with also protecting its ecosystem and environment. India has increased 24% of geographical area, which stood for 80.37 million hectares of total forest cover in India as per the ISFR (India State of Forest Report) 2019.    

 

Project Asiatic Tigers and Elephants were a Big Success

The project was launched in 1992 to protect elephant and their habitat and project Tiger was started in 1973 to protect tigers and their habitat. Both the projects were a big success.

 

Project Asiatic lions and Dolphins are also starting.  

Project lion will be given emphasise. Project dolphin will also be started soon, which will increase tourism and generate employment. Asiatic Lion Reintroduction Project is started as an initiative by the government. The Gangetic dolphin was first discovered in 1801, which under the National Ganga Council was proposed to be saved.  

 

Overwhelming Majority for India in the UN

In the UN security council out of 192 countries, 184 countries supported India for becoming the non-permanent member for the next 2 years. It shows the power and support for India in an international forum.

 

Relation with Neighbouring Countries

South-East Asian countries are very important for India. India has a historic relationship with them. Today India has not only in the sector of land security but also in water security started many exercises. Military collaboration not only with the army but navy as well with south-east countries.

For India, neighbours are not only ones India share a border with, but also those with whom we share emotions and values. Today, India has close relations in the greater neighbourhood. We are working together and have a lot of mutual respect for each other.

 

Make in India

More than 101 military equipments were stopped from being imported in India, but rather they will be built in India itself. India is becoming self-reliant and boosting its indigenous production. India exported 23 lakh personal protection equipment’s (PPE) kits to 5 countries, including the UK, UAE, US, Slovenia and Senegal.

 

Road Constructions

The infrastructure of India has improved drastically. Road connectivity is given emphasis from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh. India has joined its remote parts to the mainland. Roads construction have been increased at 21.44% between FY 16- FY 19. In alone 1029 10,855 km of highways were constructed.  

 

NCC

There is a total of 173 districts near the border area in India. NCC will be expanded in those border areas. 1 lakh (1/3 girls) NCC cadets will be embedded, which will be trained by the army, navy (in the costal district) and air force. Youth will get the required skill for making a career in the military.

 

Chief of defence staff (CoDS) is formed for better coordination.

Formed in December 2019, CoDS is the professional head and the highest-ranking officer of Indian Armed Forces. In order to improve the coordination between various defence and intelligence institution, one person from the Navy, Army or Air Force. This was first suggested after the Kargil War when coordination problems were faced by India.

 

Open Defecation Free Villages in India.

India in Swatch Bharat Mission (Gramin) website shows the data of open defecation free India. With a partnership with UNICEF, India has declared 6,03,175 villages free from open defecation as of January 2020.

 

Assam and Tripura history peace treaty.   

The NILFT (National Liberation Front of Tripura) was banned under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. NLFT led by Sabir Kumar Debbarma and Kajal Debbarma, who signed a memorandum of settlement here with the joint secretary (northeast) in the home ministry Satyendra Garg and chief secretary (home) in Tripura government Kumar Alok, agreed to the surrender of its 88 cadres with their weapons.

In return, the government will extend benefits to these cadres under surrender-cum-rehabilitation scheme. This includes an immediate grant of 4 lakh per surrenderee to be kept as fixed deposit in their name for the period 3 years. Rs. 6,000 monthly stipend for 3 years and incentive for vocation training in return of weapons/ammunition surrender.   

 

Kartarpur Sahib Corridor

The construction of the Kartarpur corridor was recorded in time. It connects Gurudwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan with India. it is 4.7 km long completed on 12th November 2019 on Guru Nanak birth anniversary.

 

Ayodhya Ram Temple

Mega Ram Temple has been started to build on the Ram Janmabhumi.  

 

P.M. Modi ended his speech by saying:

We are no less than anyone in this world. We are one of the best-producing country best-governed country. Our products and the government should be at its best. This aim should be for our freedom fighters, for our next generation for making our Bharat Atmanirbhar. We will become ‘Vocal for Local’. Empower our tribes, youth, women, villages, backward area and disabled people. We have to move forward. We are just 1 step away from completing our ambition. This Corona should not be a barrier to stop India from becoming Atmanirbhar Bharat.
