- I apply through mail, in my mail i had attach my CVV
and an intern approval letter from college (NOC). Email-id to apply for
internship is there on NALSA web page.
Core areas of law
- Internship program is basically to brief the budding
lawyers about National Legal Services Authority. How NALSA works in field of
law, speedy trials, how it provides legal aid to the needy one (those who are
not able to afford justice, who are in fear of society) Main Areas- juvenile
justice, drug addiction (NDPC Act), Acid Attack Victims...etc.( every point
covered in Legal Service Authority Act)
Main tasks
- Court room visits Family court, CMM court, Session
Court, MACT Court, CBI court, Arbitration centre (NALSA appoints a lawyer for
briefing) - Visit Juvenile justice Courts, Old Age home, central Jail - In last
days of internship , interns have to share their experiences and any topic of
LSA Act in detail.
Work Environment
- Very Positive and Friendly Breaks - Every Saturday
Sunday is off, and whole internship programme is divided into 2 phases. First,
internship runs in District Court and then in ILI ( Indian Law Institute) court
Visits - As mentioned above - very informative and judges were also co-operative.
Stipend
- No stipend
Things that could be improved
- This internship only gives you briefing, how NALSA
works, it will not provide any chance to work with them. Otherwise it is best
to get the basics of legal system.
